Christmas

Christmas for me really is just a time to relax and watch my little brothers go nuts over what they got for Christmas. In many ways I feel that being excited about getting gifts for Christmas is for children.
I feel that Christmas Changed for me at 17. At that age I realized it wasn’t about me anymore, it suddenly became more about my little brothers. For instance, instead of being asked what I want for Christmas I am now told what my little brothers want and how my dad might get everything they ask for. I would rather see a smile on my little brother’s faces then receive gifts. This is a part of growing up and besides its better to give than to receive. Over the next week i will be with my little brother watching them play with their wonderful gifts that their going to receive . The one wish i have is to come back to school and completely earn my internship. The only event I can really think of is,the youngest child in the family puts the star on top of the tree.

Internship Readiness

I feel that someone that is internship ready is, 1. A strong communicator and has confidence in their speech.  2. Someone who has the skill necessary and ready to use at internship. 3. Someone who is professional in the workplace. 4. In any and every situation in the workplace knows how to stay professional. 5. To be on time, last but not least and not to blame anyone else for their mistakes to be accountable.6. To be driven and motivated to get to where they want to be. My plan is to really convert on my feedback of procrastination and following through with completing and turning in all homework. The changes I will be making are every one that doesn’t know how driven I am to get to my goal in life will know and find out how driven I am.

Best & Worst Job

The best job I feel I had was when I was working at a nursing home in Hayward. The best points of the job were that most of the day all I really did was walk around and watch the elderly people play shuffle board and the Nintendo WII for hours at a time. This experience was great for me because I love to see elderly people try to stay active. From this experience working with the elderly I have even more respect for them than I did before because many of them were always giving me words of wisdom and advice on life in so many ways and aspects. However, the worst part of my job was that I had to clean bed pans and change bed sheets. This experience grossed me out in so many ways. The things I would see in people’s beds were just sickening. In a sense I have developed a tough skin for certain things, but I feel I should have spent a longer time with this organization because it was a learning experience in being patient and tolerant of people in this setting. If I had the opportunity to work there again I would ask if they had an opening in a computer field like networking or technical assistance, because I loved the experience I was gaining from the people there and I remember this elderly lady told me, "You live and you learn."

Occupy movement & Diego Rivera of the great depression mural connection

I feel the mural and the occupy movement have a connection in many ways. The first way I feel they are connected is because in the bottom piece of the mural there is a vault a teller a guard in front of the vault gate people sitting down looking depressed I feel this looks like the people cannot get their money
forcing them to be with out money and depressed. I feel this has a connection because in the occupy movement people are getting all these bank fees just keep to their accounts with these banks putting these people in a financial strain making it harder to make a leaving just like in the mural as a result depressed people sitting on a bench. The second connection is In next piece up there are people crowded laying down in one area with a guard looking over the people. The connection I feel this has with the occupy movement
is for example how the people have occupied a section right outside the embarcadero bart station with tents food and other thing and just like in the mural there is a guard and people crowded occupying one area. The third and final piece has a connection there are a lot of people crowding the bridges and the street. Same I feel is in the occupy movement because there migrating from one place to another in large groups resulting in a mass quantity of people crowded in areas where people trying to get to work.
This is how I feel that there is a connection with the occupy movement and the mural that Diego Rivera
Had painted in the 1930s thank you for reading my blog.

Plus/Delta Of My Self

The deltas that I have for myself are I feel I didn’t do well on either of my test. I feel I should have took more notes and paid more attention in tech class even though I already knew most of the material and the subjects that were taught in class. I feel I should have put more effort into my tech homework, waiting until the last minute to do the assigned homework was one of the reasons why I may get lower than a c in Tech. One more delta is that I feel in the last module I earned way too many infractions and need to do better to succeed in the program.

Pluses I have for myself are that I am getting better with my writing in Business communications class and getting even better over time. I'm very helpful in my tech class helping my colleagues understand what is what in tech class. Being caring in the whole community is improving even though i am a caring person as it is. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog.

Neighborhood Experience

Living In Daly City at a young age, the neighborhood taught me nothing because majority of the time I was in the house or in school. Despite how many of my classmates and associates were out getting into trouble, I was in the house learning and excelling on my computer skills from my grandmother, learning respect and discipline from my grandfather. Both of these people in my life were and still are big factors in my life. I would say at that time period of my life the neighborhood I was living in wasn’t an influence on me at all. The people that did it for me were my grandparents and their company that was around me.  Out of everybody they would have around me my godfather was another person was my godfather, he owned a locksmith shop in Daly City he taught me a lot about classic cars. My favorite car he had was a purple 280z, this was my favorite car because he taught me the almost everything  about this car later he taught me a lot about a 1955 Chevy bel-air, form the engine to the body to the interior. But really living in this neighborhood taught me to respect other people Race and origin. Going to elementary school in this neighborhood made me realize when I got older that I was fortunate to have what I had at that age.

Response to "The Poverty Business"

I feel it is sad how banks and lenders target vulnerable people or the less fortunate. What I have learned from this article is a majority of banks and lenders are out to get you for your money and keep you under the table with debt which leads to a perpetual cycle of debt. Banks and lenders in so many cases are a debt trap; they don't tell the person the interest rate they have signed their selves into. In the article woman named Roxanne Tsosie she bought a car totally on credit thinking she will only be paying $150 dollar monthly installments & agreed to pay 7,922 not knowing the interest rate was sky high 24.9%. Leading her to cancellation of the contract them getting the car back & them doing the same thing to someone else. Another case is the blue hippo case,Mr. Humphries broke his computer seen a blue hippo ad on TV called the number the lady on the phone signed him up for a new laptop. Blue hippo would debit his account for $124, & then would owe 17 payments of 71.98 dollars every other week. After a week from placing his order he realized that he would pay 1,347.66 Over nine months. Mr. Humphries called to cancel his order the first time he called they said it would be an additional 10 days to cancel. Then he called a second time they said 15 days. He talked to a phone rep the phone rep told him that blue hippo has a no refund policy meaning he lost 124 dollars and didn't get a computer. Situations like these make me feel bad because the banker/lender makes the contract sound so good if u haven't looked at it & understood what your reading putting people in financial strains & perpetual cycles of debt, I feel that in some cases the person might not have had the resources to understand what the contract was saying and many banks/lenders take advantage of people that don't know. These banks/lenders need to be put out of business Ephemeral and make way for the honest bankers & i fill banks should be made just for people to save money with no interest this is my response to "The Poverty Business" thank you for taking the time to read my blog.

ABOUT MYSELF

Hello my name is De’Jone Jones & I am a very unique person. Some of my passions are computers & cars Computers is a passion for me because I have been working with computers since I was seven. My first computer was an IBM with the green screen & command prompts. Ever since I had started understanding computers & the functions of a computer I picked up fast & self taught myself a lot of things about computers from hardware to software. Another passion of mine is classic cars. I am fascinated with the fact that they're so easy to deal with & fix when something goes wrong with it. My family is a big factor in my motivation to keep going & thriving to succeed. They are very supportive & a great inspiration in my life. Some of my friends are motivating by keeping me productive, positive & in school. Some of my future goals are to one day be a computer technician at twitter, Mozilla, Facebook, EA or Google or to be a computer engineer.I want to go back to school to get my masters in computer engineering and/or computer science.Thank you for your time & patience to read my blog about myself.

Twitter Starts Selling Political Ads

OK My Current Event Is About how twitter is expanding their horizons by selling political Ads. Meaning that the President,Mayer, vice president Can pretty much post there political ads on twitter. My personal opinion is that this is a good way for the people to see Agree & disagree on political stand points. I like the idea because sooner or later people will be voting & doing other political activities. Twitter is trying to keep up with Facebook because face book already has political views & politicians doing numerous things to support their campaigns & their political Views. Some people may not agree with this decision that twitter is making to add this feature & on top of that some do not want to say & or State their political views."Twitter, which began allowing companies to advertise on the platform more than a year ago, expects to expand the program in the coming weeks to allow more candidates and political groups to join as it builds a new political advertising sales team in Washington. Peter Greenberger, who managed Google’s first political sales team, will lead the new effort for Twitter. Eighty-five senators, 360 House members, 42 governors and all of the major presidential candidates now have Twitter accounts". This program will also allow candidates& political committees to pay for their twitter accounts to show up in list of accounts their users might want to follow.

My High School Years

My First two years of high school had its positives & negatives. Thinking back to my first two years of high
school it was a learning experience in life & somewhat impacting the choices I made in life at the time good & bad.

I want to start by talking about my positives in this school and time period which include football & history. I loved playing football high school football was fun & keeping me on top of homework & anything else so i could continue to play my first two years i started at linebacker & receiver. I like to play defense more than i did offense. I had more fun on   defense because there was more contact, harder hits, & more effort on my part. My favorite subject at the time was history i learned a lot of facts & had an opinion where most of the people & events that were taught was irrelevant to what i want to learn & know. But i learned a lot a few were people like Christopher Columbus, Genghis Khan, Mahatma Gandhi & Malcolm X. I learned about a few events while in this class to like Apartheid & The Slave Trade. In addition My Computer teacher was
motivational but at the time i didn't see it, even though he taught basic computer skills. The experiences that i had at the time with these positive things made me learn more & now thinking back in some ways made me a better person.

The Negitive things were that many of my fellow students were racist & were bad influences on my first 2 years in high school.
